villa's for the visually impaired
The villas are situated on visio's own site, in a green environment in 'het gooi'. The task was to create three houses for 24-27 (semi) self-supporting visually impaired inhabitants with 8-9 persons per house. Taken in consideration was the possibility to later sell the houses as private villas in this beautiful environment. The houses are divided into two elements, coupled by a glass corridor. The space between the two elements is a sheltered patio as a quiet outdoor space. The ground floor consists of in the lower element the 3 bedrooms for people with more than a visual handicap, while the living room, kitchen and activity room are situated in the higher element. The first floor consists of bedrooms for the rest of the group. De buildings are defined by 'light, air and space', are made of brickwork and glass, with a gentle sloping roof in the higher volumes. |
